Project Retrofit Tool

The Project Retrofit Tool allows users to push changes that have been made to a specific Project Template to other already-instantiated projects using the revised template.

The Project Retrofit Tool can be found in the Applications section of the Admin page.

Clicking the Project Retrofit Tool link takes you to the Project Retrofit page. From here you can select items to be retroactively changed in your active projects. A Logs tab at the top of the Project Retrofit window is also available with the recorded history of all changes, active and pending, that have already been initiated using the tool.

From the Project Retrofit page, the following fields are available:

  • Show Schedule Template: Select the updated Schedule Template on which you've made the changes that you wish to enact in other Projects.

  • From: Allows you to select which portion of the hierarchy the changes are applied to. Selecting Include child objects in search extends this to the child objects.

  • Action Type: Select what kind of modification you wish to preform on the Template. The actions include Task Rename, New Task Rollout, Push Optional Task, and Push Task Rollout.

Clicking the Select box allows you to choose the items on the template you wish to modify. Clicking the Green Plus Icon allows you to add more actions, and clicking the Red Minus Icon removes an action.

  • Search By Standard Attributes: Allows you to filter results by other Standard Attributes, including End Date, Notes, Project Name, Project Number, Start Date, Status, and Type. Subsequent fields in this section dynamically change depending on which option you select.

  • Also Search extended attributes by: Filter your search by either Attribute Name or Form and Section. Subsequent fields in this section dynamically change depending on which option you select.

  • Search by Role and User: Allows you to select items impacting certain roles, or items impacting certain users.

Once finished filtering the desired items for retrofitting, click the Search button to bring up resulting projects to be impacted by the retrofit. From here you can either choose to Export the list of impacted Projects, or select Validate to confirm the changes. After validating, click Save to enact the changes.
