Task Rejection Workflow
The Task Rejection Workflow enables users with certain permissions to reject task data (forms, documents, and approvals) assigned to their team before tasks are finalized. The Reject command prompts the task approver to enter a rejection reason code and provide commentary for what work is needed to remedy the task and gain approval
This feature is restricted to work only where all subtask dependencies are contained within a single schedule template. Defining dependencies outside of a schedule template requires Advanced Project Management licensing for Inter-Project Dependencies.
Configure a schedule template with task rejection workflow:
-
Navigate to the schedule template.
-
In the toolbar of the Schedule section, click Configure Task Rejection Workflow. The Configure Task Rejection Workflow window appears similar to the following picture.
-
Select a subtask to configure from the left column. Only subtasks can be selected and only one at a time.
-
Select tasks from the right column that are to be re-opened when the subtask selected on the left is rejected. The right column shows 1st-level predecessors to the selected subtask with the text Pred.
If you select a parent task in the right column, all of its subtasks are automatically selected. If you deselect a subtask, the parent is automatically deselected. If you deselect a parent task that is checked, it automatically unchecks all subtasks currently selected for that parent.
-
Click Next to preview your changes. The Configure Task Rejection Workflow - Review Submission window appears. Additional subtasks that are re-opened are shown in green text, unchanged subtasks appear in black text.
-
Click Submit to save your changes. The schedule template home page appears. The subtasks that are reopened are listed in the Rejection WF Tasks column and the Task Rejection Workflow Enabled? field in the Template Info section is set to Yes. The Task Rejection WF column displays a check mark for the schedule template in the schedule template list.
